How Search Engines Work:
You search for keywords.
They scan their databases.
They compare your keywords against their webpages' text.
They rank the matching webpages by:
How often your keywords appear
Where your keywords are placed
A webpage's indexed authority
Number of links to and from the webpage’s URL
More instances of ranking factors will place a website higher in the ranking algorithm.
Research Tip
Use multiple Search Engines or a Metasearch Engine.
No search engine has indexed the entire surface web
Every search engine searches its unique index
This search technique will scan more of surface web, retrieving more sources!
